WineDogs 2025 – A Day of Dogs & WINE
Last weekend, I had the absolute joy of attending WineDogs at Luna Estate in Martinborough as a stall holder with my amazing husband. WineDogs is exactly what it sounds like – a dog‑friendly vineyard walk, complete with wine stations for humans, treat stations for pups, prize-giving for best dressed (matching human and pup outfits!), music, and plenty of opportunities to celebrate our four-legged companions in style. I was there offering fine art picnic photoshoots to the many dogs and their owners who came along for the event.
Despite a week of warnings for wind and rain, we were greeted with bright blue skies, although gusts of wind still made themselves known! Bob and I were kept busy at our stall, making sure that all our setup elements didn’t blow away. Fortunately, Luna Estate is quite protected from the wind, so while we had some gusts coming through, it could have been a lot worse!
The atmosphere was wonderful, full of excited energy and happy dogs. Around 400 attendees and their pups joined the festivities, creating a lively and social environment. We were surrounded by other amazing stall holders, including 4Paws Empire and Luna Leash Co., whose offerings added even more character to the day with 4Paws offering their infamous dog-friendly burgers, and Luna Leash offering a pink dog-friendly slushie!
One of the highlights for us was photographing so many gorgeous pups and their owners, many in coordinating outfits – including matching leis, and a girl dressed as Dorothy with her dog Toto.
In-between photoshoots, Chance 4 Change, the dog rescue I often photograph for, brought over pups to get updated profile pics for their adoption listings. It was so lovely to see a few familiar faces – some pups I’ve photographed three times now! While I absolutely love seeing them and getting so many puppy cuddles, I’m hoping that next time I see them it will be with their forever family. You can see Chance 4 Change’s pups available for adoption here.
The day was not without its challenges – the wind was a constant companion, and at times it felt like we were battling it more than anything else. But the smiles, laughter, and shared love of dogs more than made up for it. It was one of those days that reminds you why you love what you do: connecting with people and their beloved pets, and capturing those moments in a way that turns them into lasting memories.
We left the vineyard tired but inspired, full of gratitude for everyone who visited our stall and trusted us to capture a little piece of their fun day. WineDogs 2025 at Luna Estate was a celebration of dogs, community, and beautiful surroundings – and we hope it goes ahead next year too.
